What is Foundations Year?

Foundations Year is a one-year program designed to give students the basic biblical knowledge needed for fruitful ministry and further theological study. Foundations Year is the starting place for all other GTS programs but may also be completed as a stand-alone program.

Who is Foundations Year for?

Foundations Year is for any Christian who desires to be better equipped for the Christian life and ministry. For example:

  • A businessperson actively serving in ministry
  • A couple seeking deeper biblical understanding
  • A housewife with a passion for discipleship
  • A man who desires to pastor or elder

Where do I take the Foundations Year Course?

What is the Time Commitment for Foundations Year?

The Foundations Year program requires about six hours per week, from the first week of September until the first week of June. This includes a weekly class on Mondays in Garhoud and Abu Dhabi; Wednesdays in Internet City (7-10pm GST). Students will read the entire Bible and will submit various written assignments.

How Much Does Foundations Year Cost?

For the ten-month program, the cost is AED 4,400 for in-person students and AED 4,700 for online students. This includes 37 class sessions, as well as all readings, support materials, graduate credit, and access to the GTS learning management system and online library. Online students will also have access to live Zoom classes.
